Ron André, Director of Bands

Ron André received his degree in Bachelor of Music in Education from Arizona State University and is currently the Director of Bands at Gilbert High School. Prior to coming to Gilbert, Mr. Andre was Director of Bands and Performing Arts Department Chair at Mesquite High School for 14 years. Under his direction, the bands at Mesquite High School have received high musical honors throughout Arizona since the school's opening in 1998. Before opening Mesquite, Mr. André was assistant band director at both Highland High School and Greenfield Jr. High in the Gilbert Public School District for 3 years.

In the spring of 1999, Mr. André was clinician and conductor for Chandler School District 6th grade honor band. In the Fall of 2003, he had the privilege of guest conducting the Arizona State University Wind Symphony at a joint concert with Mesquite. In the spring of 2011, Mr. André was also clinician and conductor for the Tempe Middle School Honor Band.

In addition to his duties at Gilbert High School, Mr. André is highly sought after as a music arranger, drill designer and show consultant for various marching bands around the Phoenix Metropolitan area. He also has been a member of the Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble since 1999. In the spring of 2005, Mr. André received his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. His wife, Amy Vierling, is a 1st Grade Teacher for Mesa Public Schools.
