2010 Winter Programs Started

WINTER PERFORMANCES STARTED

Congrats to all the Black Guard and Indoor Drumline students!!! We really enjoyed their first performances of the season, and can't wait until they get to complete their shows. The Eval Show is just what the name says it is. Each unit performs twice for a panel of judges who then provide commentary to the unit directors on their first impressions, and give comments on how they would see the shows continue to develop. It also provides students an early opportunity to perform in front of an audience, so that their hard work over the winter break (which every unit does) receives some much needed positive reinforcement. The next show on the schedule, at Mesquite HS on Saturday Feb 6th, will be the first competitive show of the season for all of our groups, where scores will be given, and awards handed out.

The GHS Winter Show is coming up.  This is an indoor guard and drumline show that we host. Please sign up with http://onecause.com under Gilbert High School Bands.  This organization pays the band back a percentage of all money spent when items are purchased thru onecause.com or when you use the toolbar to search for items.  Please contact Carolyn Gieszl for more info so you can sign up.

Come out and join us at Burger King on Gilbert Rd. & Juniper Wednesday, Jan 20th from 5pm-7:30pm.  10% of the proceeds from anyone with a Gilbert Drumline flier (handed out @ Burger King) will go to support the Winter Drumline.

Drive Thru orders will NOT be counted for this fundraiser. Patrons need to come into restaurant and will be given a flier which will be presented at the counter when ordering.

The kids will be drumming outside on the corner of Juniper and Gilbert Rd.  If you can’t come in and join us for a meal, feel free to drop a donation in the “drum” as you pass by.

Car Wash

Hey is your car dirty from all the rain this week? Well, don’t get it washed yet there is more rain to come.  Wait until this Saturday, Jan. 23rd and the Drumline kids will wash your car for you.

You guessed it, we are holding a carwash fundraiser this Saturday at Valero on Val Vista & Guadalupe and Arby’s on Gilbert Rd. & Guadalupe from 9:00am – Noon.
